Over the past decades, type 2 diabetes has increased significantly, and approximately 400 million people around the world are affected by it. Some risk factors that can contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes include unhealthy dietary habits, stress, smoking, and a sedentary lifestyle.

Aim: The aim was to describe people's experience of living with type 2 diabetes.

Method: A literature review was chosen as the method. The article search was conducted in the databases Cinahl and PubMed, and a total of 10 scientific qualitative original articles were included in the results.

Results: The results revealed three main themes and two subthemes. The main themes were Emotional and Psychological Challenges, Difficulties in Managing Changes in Daily Life, and Support from Social Networks Influencing the Management of Type 2 Diabetes.
